Huntsville, Ala. — The Huntsville Havoc edged out the Pensacola Ice Flyers with a 3-2 victory on Friday night at Roto-Rooter Ice at Propst Arena, thrilling another sellout crowd.
The Havoc opened the scoring at 6:14 of the first period when Benito Posa netted his third goal of the season, assisted by Dom Procopio and Connor Lovie. Pensacola responded with a power-play goal at 9:24 to tie the game. Huntsville regained the lead at 14:33 with a power-play goal from defenseman Jeremy Gervais, set up by Craig McCabe and Jack Jaunich.
In the second period, Pensacola equalized again at 4:48. The Havoc answered promptly at 7:23 with Gervais’s second power-play goal of the night, assisted by Noah Finstrom and Austin Alger, reclaiming the lead.
The third period remained scoreless, with goaltender Mike Robinson making 13 saves to preserve the win. Robinson finished with 27 saves on 29 shots, anchoring the Havoc’s defense.
Huntsville’s special teams were pivotal, converting 2 of 5 power-play opportunities and successfully killing 2 of 3 penalties.
