Former Rookie of the Year Signs

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Havoc are excited to announce the signing of forward Austin Alger.

Alger, a 6’0” forward from Livonia, MI, brings strong professional experience to Huntsville. The 27-year-old played five seasons of collegiate hockey between Miami (OH) and Canisius (NCAA D1) before signing with Fayetteville for the 2022-23 season.

In his first SPHL season, Alger made an immediate impact, earning Rookie of the Year honors with 51 points in 54 games. He went on to play a season in Finland’s second division with IPK, where he notched 41 points in 38 games and added 23 points in 20 playoff appearances.
