HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huntsville Havoc announced the signing of G Reid Cooper for the 2023-24 season.

Cooper, 25, started his college career at Robert Morris University (NCAA D1) before transferring to Curry College (NCAA DIII). In his final two collegiate seasons saw Cooper post a 2.01 Goals Against Average (GAA) and an impressive .929 save percentage. He was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Goaltender of the Year and Co-Player of the Year.

Cooper was signed by the Washington Capitals to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) and served as their backup goalie for their game on April 13, 2023.

“He is a big goalie who moves really well and is ultra-competitive.”, said head coach Stuart Stefan, “We think he will fit well into our culture. He’s constantly working on his game to get better every day”.
