HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Havoc have bolstered their blue line, acquiring the rights to defenseman Taylor Egan from the Pensacola Ice Flyers in exchange for forward Doug Elgstam.
Egan, 26, brings a wealth of experience across multiple leagues, including stints in U SPORTS and the ECHL before making his mark in the SPHL. Most recently, he appeared in all 53 games for Pensacola during the 2023-24 season, contributing five goals and 13 assists, along with a solid +5 rating. He is known for his reliable presence on the ice and ability to move the puck effectively.
Before turning pro, the Carp, Ontario, native played collegiate hockey at Lakehead University, where he developed his game across three seasons. Egan also gained valuable experience in the ECHL, with stops in Newfoundland, Maine, and Wheeling, adding depth to his professional résumé.
In exchange, the Havoc send forward Doug Elgstam to Pensacola. Elgstam was a consistent presence in the Havoc lineup, and his contributions to the team are deeply appreciated. Elgstam played one season in Pensacola previously.
