The Huntsville Havoc have announced Chris Blaisus as their new Assistant Coach and Video Coach. Blaisus will work alongside Head Coach Stuart Stefan and Assistant Coach Tyler Piacentini for the upcoming season.
Blaisus joins the Havoc after serving as the Video Coordinator for the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL. His coaching career spans over a decade, including roles as the Head Coach of the SPHL’s Vermillion County Bobcats and over two seasons as a head coach in the NA3HL. He also spent six years in various hockey operations roles with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, where the team won three Robertson Cup USA Hockey Tier 2 National Championships.
Earlier in his career, Blaisus was the Director of Scouting, Player Personnel, and Video Coach for the USHL’s Tri-City Storm, helping lead the team to a playoff berth. He was instrumental in drafting future NHL player Jaden Schwartz first overall in the 2008 USHL Futures Draft.
A Port Jefferson, New York native, Blaisus also played a key role in launching the Kenai River Brown Bears (NAHL) franchise in 2007-08. His extensive coaching and video analysis background will bring valuable expertise to the Havoc’s staff as they prepare for the upcoming season.
“Chris brings a ton of experience, whether it’s from his time coaching in our league or helping teams in the ECHL,” I said. “He’s got a great hockey mind, and adding him to our staff will only make us stronger. We’re excited to have him on board.”
