HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Derek Perl finishes his time with the Havoc, moving on to his next chapter.
After a stellar career with the Huntsville Havoc, defenseman Perl has officially cemented his legacy with the team, ranking among the franchise’s all-time greats. Over the course of 269 career games, Perl finishes his time with the Havoc as the sixth all-time leader in games played, a testament to his consistency and endurance on the ice.
Perl also stands out offensively, ranking third in all-time points by a Havoc defenseman. His impressive 101 career points, earned through a combination of goals and assists, reflect his key role in driving the team’s success both in the offensive and defensive zones.
“Though Derek may not have always been in the spotlight, his unwavering dedication and consistency were essential pieces to our back-to-back championships,” said former Head Coach Glenn Detulleo “He may have been an unsung hero on the ice, but he was a popular teammate in the locker room and great role model for younger players.”
As Perl concludes his career, his contributions to the Huntsville Havoc will not be forgotten. His impact on the ice and his presence in the locker room have helped shape the team’s success, and he leaves a lasting legacy in Havoc history.
