Are you a current student looking for an exciting internship? Do you have the desire to learn how a professional sports team operates?

The Huntsville Havoc offers a unique internship program for college students who want to become leaders in the business of professional sports. From learning how to perform tasks like selling tickets, creating corporate sponsorship opportunities, and managing a game-day with thousands of fans, an internship with the Havoc will grow your understanding of the Sports Industry.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate level college classes, preferably seeking class credit for your internship. Interns must be willing to learn and be available to work in the Front Office in addition to all Havoc home games for the duration of the internship program. Internships are offered on an individual basis, and applicants must interview for available positions. Because of the nature of the business and size of full-time staff, positions are limited based on the needs of the team.

Sports Administration / Ticket Sales Intern for Fall/Spring

The Huntsville Havoc are looking for a college student looking to get experience in this highly competitive field of sports business. We are looking for an intern that is willing to go above and beyond what is asked of them on a daily basis. We are looking for a strong and independent worker that can handle a wide variety of tasks. We ask for dependability and commitment, as we will work together as a team.

What You Will Learn/Do:

Answer phones and handle customer questions effectively.

Make cold calls.

Generate qualified leads.

Demonstrate the ability to assist the Marketing and Sales team with customer outreach efforts.

Comprehensive Customer Service.

Data entry and maintain spreadsheets.

Attend philanthropic events.

 

What We Require:

Background in Sports Administration, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or other related discipline.

Enthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to learn sales.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.

Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.

High level of comfort working with clients.

Database and Contact List Management.

Familiarity with TicketMaster One and TMwin99, but we will also train.

 

Multimedia Intern for Fall/Spring

What You Will Learn/Be Responsible For:

How to create a long term social media plan and marketing calendar.

Relationship building with our online community by helping maintain Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other media accounts.

How to track social media analytics.

Assist with creating and running online auctions.

Provide support to social media efforts.

Maintain tracking report of public relations activity.

Capture audio & video on game days and assist in video production.

Open and sort mail.

Skills & Requirements:

Background in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or other related disciplines.

Strong communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.

Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.

Creative and Flexible.

Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is desired, be we will also train.

Basic understanding of using audio & video equipment, but we will also train.

Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train.

Familiarity with TicketMaster One and TMwin99, but we will also train.
